The Old Chocolate House - Best Chocolate Store & Café in Bruges

Belgium is well-known for its superb chocolate, and that holds true for whichever Belgian city in which you find yourself. In this case, let’s discuss Bruges!

Although you’re almost guaranteed great quality cocoa treats wherever you choose to dine, there is one place that (for me) stood out a choco-lot.

That place? The Old Chocolate House

Warning: An onslaught of low-quality photos of me eating will follow.

The Old Chocolate House is a two-storey building that has a chocolate store on the first level, and a chocolate-themed tea room on the second level.

The tea room serves decadent treats like rich hot chocolates, fluffy Belgian waffles, chocolate soufflés, and other cocoa-based delicacies.

The standout order for me was the hot chocolate (I got salted caramel milk chocolate). Rather than making it for you, the servers bring out a large cup of boiling hot milk, and a number of chocolate truffles for you to whisk in yourself.

I’ve never tasted such “fresh” and wholesome hot chocolate in my life. I honestly teared up a bit… it was that good.

Joel ordered the Belgian waffles, and as you can see, they didn’t skimp on the toppings, nor on the size of the waffle itself!

Location:
Mariastraat 1a, 8000 Brugge
