Drop Coffee (Coffee Shop and Cafe Reviews - STOCKHOLM)

I love coffee.

I love coffee.

I love, love, love coffee.

I also love desserts, but I am gluten intolerant, so it’s an absolute bummer going out and realizing I cannot indulge in some of the sweet treats that seem to call out my name in caressing and sweet tones.

Imagine my absolute delight and surprise when I go to a café, and assume that the exact treat that is calling my name is, in fact, gluten free! Well, this is exactly at Drop Coffee. I was a very, very happy Sarah.

Drop Coffee is great little café located in Södermalm. Although they don’t have an extensive variety of treats offered, the ones they do have are clearly made with care and do not skimp on the good stuff, namely, icing! From the gluten free carrot cake (below) to the kanelbullar (Swedish cinnamon bun), their treats were honestly incredibly delicious, and well worth popping in to try!

Before proceeding onto the coffee, I have to quickly say an ode to their carrot cake.

LOOK AT ALL THAT ICING!

I swear, I have never seen a carrot cake with as much icing in my life, and least of all a gluten free carrot cake!

I can’t believe I am wiring this word, but the cake was so incredibly moist and scrumptious. It pains me as I type this that I am not back in Stockholm at this very moment eating it. Oh, the woes of knowing thee, carrot cake! How it ails me so while awake!

Anyways, if it wasn’t clear enough, their dessert are phenomenal. And there are gluten free options. Rejoice. That is all.

Now on to the coffee:

Wow, Drop Coffee doesn’t play around. with this, either. They’ve got choices. They take it seriously. You want something sweet? They have that. More bitter? They have that, too. I was impressed with the amount of knowledge the staff had about their coffee. My cappuccino tasted lovely, and the next time I popped by and ordered a filtered coffee, I definitely enjoy the taste of the beans themselves without any milk or sugar added.

As for the atmosphere, Drop Coffee seems to be divided into three “sections” - there’s the room to the left with one big table and outlets, there’s the room where the baristas are with seating facing the main window, and there’s spaces to sit around the back of the place. It’s a huge space, and seems great for getting some work done on your laptop, or journaling.

The space is also perfect for - you guessed it! - Fika.

I hope you enjoyed this review, and I hope you get in some quality Fika on your trip to Stockholm!

Thanks for reading, lovely ❤️
