Lemon Glaze Recipe

If you prefer your desserts sour rather than sweet, than you’ve come to the right place!

This Lemon Glaze recipe is a perfect topper for cakes, cookies, and brownies, that require a bit more zest.

This glaze was originally conceived to zhuzh up my Lemon Polenta Cake Recipe (BTW it’s also gluten free). It’s tangy, and it’s a great option for those who like citrus. Enjoy!

The Recipe

Time allotment

Prep Time: 3 minutes

Cooking time: 3-4 minutes

Total Time: 6-7 minutes

Yield: 1 1/4 cup of lemon glaze

Cooking Utensils

  • One bowl

  • Spatula

  • Whisk - OR - Handheld Mixer - OR - Upright Mixer

  • Measuring cups

  • Measuring spoons


Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp butter

  • 1 cup (100g) icing sugar

  • 2 tsp lemon juice

  • (Optional) 1 tsp lemon zest


Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, add in all of the required ingredients

  2. Whip on high all of the ingredients together, until an even and smooth consistency is achieved

  3. Top any desired recipe with the glaze. Might I suggest a Lemon Polenta Cake?

    1. You can also just chow down on it by itself. I won’t mess with your vibe!
