Chocolate Caramel Rice Krispies Recipe (Gluten Free Option)
We all love Rice Krispies Squares! They’re a classic. This is an elevated version that combines the best of chocolate and caramel with the best of marshmallow and snack-crackle-and-pop!
Warning: It will be consumed rapidly.
 
             
            The Recipe
Time allotment
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 31 minutes
Total Time: 46 minutes
Yield: 13 x 9 baking pan of homemade Rice Krispies Treats
Cooking Utensils
- One Bowl 
- One Saucepan 
- Stovetop 
- Spatula 
- Measuring cups/ spoons 
- Baking Pan (+ parchment paper or preferred greasing agent) 
Ingredients
- 4 cups Rice Krispies Cereal - Gluten Free Option: Nature's Path, Organic Crispy Rice Cereal 
 
- 1 pack (213g) Marshmallow Fluff (or marshmallows) 
- 2 tbsp (25g) butter 
- 1 tsp vanilla extract 
- 2 chocolate caramel chocolate bars (like Mars or Rolo) - OR - 1/2 cup (87.5g) chocolate, and 1/2 cup (160g) caramel - Chocolate: Cadbury Milk Chocolate Spread 
- Caramel: Hershey’s Caramel Topping 
 
- (Optional Topping) 1/4 cup chocolate chips (melted) 
 
            The Blondies batter, with the added Blonde chocolate bars that had been cut-up
 
             
             
            Instructions
- Line (or grease) your baking pan with parchment paper 
- In a saucepan on low heat, melt 2 tbsp butter 
- Once the butter is melted, add 1 pack marshmallow fluff, two chocolate caramel bars, pinch of salt, and 1 tsp vanilla extract 
- Add 4 cups Rice Krispies cereal (or Gluten Free alternative) and stir with a spatula until well combined - I grease my spatula with a bit of butter so it won’t stick 
 
- Once combined, scoop out the mixture into the prepared baking pan 
- (Optional Topping) Melt 1/2 cup (87.5g) chocolate and drizzle over the mixture 
- Allow to cool and harden for minimum 1 hour before serving 
- Enjoy!
