Three Ships Beauty Skincare Review (Vegan and Cruelty-Free Clean Beauty Brand)

Three Ships beauty is a pared-back beauty brand created in 2017 by two women, Laura and Connie, who wanted to create effective and reasonably priced clean skincare. The name comes from the myth explaining that the Fountain of Youth was discovered by merely three ships.

Their products are natural, and sustainably sourced. They don’t contain any nasty fillers or additives. Their website even contains a "Glossary” of all of their active ingredients, so you can get full transparency on the products you use. They even received their Certified B Corp status (meaning, they meet specific standards of environmental and social accountability, and transparency).

My favourite part of Three Ships Beauty is that it an affordable clean skincare brand. It is a good entry level brand for those wanting to switch to a more natural skincare regime. There isn’t as much range in their catalogue as other beauty brands, but what they do have works well overall.

Read on for more of my thoughts, and let me know if you want me to try out any other Three Ships products (or other skincare brand) in the comments!

Harmony Cucumber + Kombucha Microbiome Balancing Cleanser

The Three Ships Harmony Cucumber + Kombucha Microbiome Balancing Cleanser is a gentle milky cleanser, that effectively clears the skin of impurities, and excess oil. It is great in the morning after waking up. However, I do recommend a separate cleanser (as part of a double cleanse routine) to effectively remove makeup at night.

My favourite part of this cleanser is that you only require water to remove all debris - no need for a wash cloth or a muslin cloth! This is also great for sensitive skin, and has a very light natural fragrance.

Star Ingredients: Kombucha (pre-biotics), Cucumber Extract (anti-inflammatory), Glycerin (hyrdrating)

Recommended? Yes.

Radiance Grape Stem Cell + Squalane Day Cream

The Three Ships Beauty Radiance Grape Stem Cell + Squalane Day Cream is a daytime hydration powerhouse.

This cream has a pleasant fruity scent. It is quite thick, so it provides excellent hydration in the colder months. I find it a bit too thick and oily for the summer. In order to subvert this, I apply a very, very thin layer.

Overall, great everyday product for dryer months, or dry skin!

Star Ingredients: Grape Stem Cell Extract (antioxidant - anthocyanin), Squalane (hydrating), Bark Extract Blend (polyphenols)

Recommended? Yes… In the Fall/ Winter

Dew Drops Mushroom Hyaluronic Acid + Vitamin C Serum

Save your skin and prevent pollution and oxidative stress with Three Ships Beauty Dew Drops Mushroom Hyaluronic Acid + Vitamin C Serum.

Rather than oranges, this serum sources Vitamin C from the far more potent Kakadu Plum (an Australian superfood). Hyaluronic Acid from Tremella Mushrooms adds much needed hydration.

This is a gorgeous and silky serum, which doesn’t leave an oily residue on the skin. It soaks in quickly, and is gentle enough for daily use. The scent isn’t cloying, and the bottle and dropper make getting the right amount a breeze.

Highly recommend!

Star Ingredients: Tremella Mushroom (Hyaluronic Acid) (hydrating), Kakadu Plum (brightening), Red Algae Extract (plumping)

Recommended? Yes

Awake Rose Hydrosol Toner

While I appreciate the lack of preservatives and fillers, I greatly dislike Witch Hazel on my skin, so this product is a hard pass from me.

If you like Witch Hazel, this is perhaps worth a try as the ingredients are clean and otherwise lovely,

Star Ingredients: Rose (rejuvenating), Witch Hazel (antioxidants)

Recommended? No

Brighter Days Red Algae + Avocado Biodegradable Eye Masks

Three Ships Beauty Brighter Days Red Algae + Avocado Biodegradable Eye Masks is a bi-weekly treat for the under-eyes. There are 30 sets in the package, which makes this an excellent bang-for-your-buck.

I find this hydrating, soothing, and very satisfying to use. The unique shape that covers the entire ‘eye real estate’. It also stays on without too much slip-n-slide.

A cool feature is that you can place the hydrogels in hot water when you’re done, and they’ll fully dissolve in 10 minutes. Science, baby!

Good for the environment and your skin!

Star Ingredients: Red Algae (overall skin health), Avocado (conditioning), Glycerin (hyrdrating)

Recommended? Yes

First Light Vitamin C + Caffeine Eye Cream

Three Ships Beauty answer to an eye cream is the First Light Vitamin C + Caffeine Eye Cream.

Safe for morning or evening, this fast-absorbing eye cream de-puffs and targets under-eye dark circles. It’s light, and doesn’t interfere with makeup or SPF for daytime use. Yay!
Star Ingredients: Caffeine Extract (antioxidant), Acerola Cherry (brightening Vitamin C), Squalane (hydrating)

Recommended? Yes

Vanilla Lip Exfoliator + Buttercream Hydrating Lip Mask

The scent of both these lip products is exquisite. I’d recommend them for that alone.

The exfoliator leaves behind an oily residue on my lips unless I scrub it roughly with a cloth, so I dislike that. It does the job, but there are better Exfoliators on the market.

The lip cream is phenomenal and I’ve purchased multiple. It keeps my lips so smooth and silky. I put it on nightly.

If you must pick, grab the Lip Buttercream!

Star Ingredients:

Buttercream: Sunflower Oil, Coconut Oil, Shea Butter (hydrating)

Exfoliator: Sugar (exfoliator), Shea Butter and Avocado Oil (hydrating)

Recommended? No and Yes
