Evanhealy Skincare Review (Clean and Cruelty-Free)

Evanhealy describes its approach to skincare as “less is more”. This philosophy has inspired a line that utilizes minimal yet effective ingredients in its products, which often feature essential oils and plant extracts.

I discovered Evanhealy by chance on a visit to the beauty aisle at Whole Foods. The short ingredient list and more-affordable-than-most price tag intrigued me greatly.

Here are my thoughts on this clean and simple skincare brand!

Blue Lavender Cleansing Milk

Evanhealy skincare - Blue Lavender Cleansing Milk (clean, natural skincare review) - safe for sensitive skin

If you have sensitive skin, this is a beautiful cleanser to add to your routine.

As it’s a cleansing milk, it gently whisks away makeup and cleanses the skin without being too harsh. The texture is very creamy and soft, and the slight lavender scent is soothing. In terms of effectiveness, I do find that this product removes everyday makeup without too much difficulty.

However, heavy stage makeup or waterproof makeup sometimes requires a bit of extra help (I used micellar water on a reusable cotton pad to remove my waterproof mascara, then used this cleanser to take off the rest of my makeup).

Overall, this is a pleasing cleansing milk that is very calming and safe for reactive skin.

Ideal For: Gently removes makeup and environmental toxins

Skin Type: Sensitive skin

Standout Ingredients: Gotu Kola (antioxidants), White Kaolin Clay (purifying), Rose Geranium (nourishing)

Recommended? Yes

Wild Carrot Nourishing Eye Balm (Organic)

EvanHealy’s response to an eye care product is their Wild Carrot Nourishing Eye Balm.

While the balm is effective at smoothing and hydrating the delicate skin around the eye area, I find it frustrating to apply. It’s too dense to directly swipe under the eye. You need to warm up the product by rubbing it into your palms, or against a finger. As well, being a balm, it does leave a visible “waxy” film around the eye which makes it unfit for use during the day. Makeup and SPF doesn’t apply well over it.

Given its effectiveness as a hydrator, it’s a shame that this is a more unruly product to use.

Ideal For: On-the-go eye-care

Skin Type: All skin types

Standout Ingredients: Cold-pressed wild carrot seed oil (nourish), Whipped shea butter (moisture), Rosehip oil (antioxidant)

Recommended? No

Blue Chamomile Day Moisturizer

Evanhealy skincare - Blue Chamomile Day Moisturizer (clean, natural skincare review) - safe for sensitive skin

EvanHealy makes a great everyday moisturizer suitable for a variety of skin types.

Those with sensitive and reactive skin will really appreciate the soothing effects of chamomile in this product. It’s texture is smooth, and it blends easily into the skin. I really like that it’s easy to apply makeup and SPF over this product after a few minutes.

My mum is also a big fan of this cream. She told me to add to this post: “Make sure you say it’s good for skin with rosacea. It doesn’t bother it at all!”

Overall, for a basic moisturizer, you can’t go wrong with this!

Ideal For: Moisturizing of sensitive and reactive skin

Skin Type: All skin types, especially sensitive skin

Standout Ingredients: Lavender (calming), Blue chamomile (soothing), Carrot seed (hydrating)

Recommended? Yes

Rosehip Treatment Facial Serum - Blue

A little of this serum goes a long way!

If you like the benefits of rosehip, then you will love this product. Made up of only key oils and Vitamin E, this serum really packs a punch with the skincare benefits it delivers.

It smells lovely, and I love the colour and texture. There’s something about the smooth amber liquid that feels luxurious.

I personally bought the “blue” version, as it contained calming chamomile, lavender, and immortelle oil. There is a “rose” version that has rosy-leaf geranium and carrot seed oil if you prefer a more balancing product.

This is a great product to add onto any existing skincare routine, as it does work very well!

Ideal For: Nourishing the skin, by providing it many essential vitamins

Skin Type: All skin types

Standout Ingredients: Rosehip (Vitamin A), Geranium (balancing), Carrot seed (regenerating)

Recommended? Yes

Lavender hydrosoul

Evanhealy skincare - Lavender HydroSoul (clean, natural skincare review) - safe for sensitive skin

I really wanted to love this product, but unfortunately the scent forbid me from doing so.

Usually, I am able to tolerate displeasing scents, but this one was too potent to ignore. As well, my skin became somewhat red and irritated whenever I used it.

Something I really admire about EvanHealy is that they don’t put many preservatives or fillers into their products. However, as this toner is only comprised of lavender, perhaps the ingredient itself is too harsh for my skin.

As it was, I wouldn’t personally recommend this Hydrosol due to the scent alone. I am considering trying out the Rose Geranium HydroSoul instead!

Ideal For: Calming and soothing red / irritated skin

Skin Type: Sensitive, irritated skin

Standout Ingredients: 100% Organic Lavender Hydrosol

Recommended? No

French Rose Clay

I adore this mask!

Composed of only two ingredients (Pink Clay/ Kaolinite, Rhassoul Clay/ Moroccan Lava Clay), this is a fantastic and powerful product to cleanse and exfoliate sensitive skin.

As some with acne-prone skin, this helps settle down and reduce the redness of my spots. As it is very potent, I wouldn’t suggest doing it more than once a week. However, you can always use it as a spot treatment for particular acne spots if needed.

The mask does take a bit of “assembly”, but it’s very easy to do. Just mix together 1 tsp of the mask to 1/2 tsp of water in a bowl, and apply the mixture to your face. I don’t mind doing that bit myself, because it means the product doesn’t contain any preservatives or fillers. It’s just the ingredients you want! Amazing!

Ideal For: Absorbing excess oil, exfoliate

Skin Type: All skin types, especially sensitive skin

Standout Ingredients: Pink Clay, Rhassoul Clay

Recommended? 100% Yes!
