Inkbox Review (Temporary Tattoos)

For those of you who are as equally indecisive as me, the decision to get a tattoo may seem like a huge undertaking.

What if the design becomes uncool next year? What if I change my mind? What if I break up with my current partner? What if I’m unsure about how a tattoo will look on me? What if my Game of Thrones themed tramp stamp doesn’t resonate as much 5 years from now?

All these are valid concerns. Cue: Inbox.

This particular temporary tattoo company has created a product which targets those who want to recreate the look of a permanent tattoo, without any of the permanence. This might interest people wanting to try out a new design, or those who want to pretend they have a tattoo for a short period time.

I have tried out 7 Inkbox temporary tattoos, and I have showed off the results, and detailed my thoughts on this particular company below. Enjoy!

Items included in the package:

  1. Primer Wipe

  2. Tattoo (For Now Ink™)

  3. Protective Seal

Steps for application:

  1. Use the primer wipe on your preferred tattoo area

  2. Peel off the protective seal from the tattoo

  3. Carefully apply it to the area you want it, and smooth it down

  4. Allow it to set for 1 hour before taking it off

  5. Your tattoo will darken in 24-this 36 hours

  6. Enjoy it for 1-2 weeks

    1. If you need to remove it, use a powerful exfoliator and water

Here are some photos of the steps. I applied it alone to my wrist, and had little difficulty. It’s quite simple, as long as you keep a steady hand. Below, I included the before-and-after results of other Inkbox Tattoos I’ve used.

Thoughts:

This particular tattoo had a small smudge, that may have been a result of my application. After two days, the smudge was no longer visible. I liked this design!

Thoughts:

This was my favourite design! I thought it came out beautifully, and this one fooled people into thinking I had gotten real ink. It lasted just over two weeks!

Final Thoughts

I really enjoyed my experience with Inbox Tattoos.

I have very sensitive skin, but did not experience any discomfort or adverse reaction with the formula. I found the application process and instructions very easy and clear. The most difficult part was waiting for 1 hour to peel off the protective seal!

I think these tattoos are great for a number of people, including those who want to try a new tattoo design to see if they like it before committing, those who can’t get a tattoo for personal or religious reasons, and even actors or models who require new ink temporarily. Inbox sells their own range of designs, and there is also a way for you to request specific designs.

Most of my tattoos lasted 1.5-2 weeks. Towards the end of the second week, it did begin to fade, but usually in a universal manner (rather than in patches). At this time, I used an exfoliator to scrub it off in the shower. This us something someone who wants to remove their tattoo sooner can do, too. However, this is more effective the longer the tattoo has been on.

My tattoo did remain intact in the shower, but I had to be careful not to scrub / use soap on that area while it was on. It also withstood my regular workouts (Pilates, dance, cardio). I wouldn’t recommend swimming with it on, or wearing clothing with abrasive fabrics that could rub it.

Overall, I had a good experience with this temporary tattoo company. I would definitely recommend Inbox, and I look forward to trying out different designs!
