Top 3 Best Gluten Free Fried Chicken in Toronto (Celiac Safe)

I like Chicken. I like Fried Food.
LET’S PUT EM TOGETHER BABE!
(and make them gluten free)

If you’re celiac/ gluten free/ gluten sensitive/ wheat free/ gluten curious, and want even more Gluten Free in Toronto, then check out my original Gluten Free restaurant post, my best Gluten Free Pizza post, and my Gluten Free Cakes post!

DADDY’S CHICKEN

Thank you, Daddy!
(I’m so sorry for typing that)

Daddy’s Chicken is one of the most consistently standout fried chicken establishments in Toronto. What’s absolutely bonkers to me is knowing that they have the facilities to create both “normal” and entirely celiac safe “gluten free” options of their offerings.

When it comes to fried chicken, it’s unsurprising that Daddy’s Chicken makes excellent fried chicken. They have both Original or Spicy options for their fried chicken (thighs), and a slew of dipping sauces. My personal recommendation is Lime and Jalapeño Aioli or Hot Maple. There are also chicken fingers, for those who prefer smaller chicken strips. I personally prefer the thick, juicy, and crispy thighs.

It’s fortunate for my wallet that Daddy’s Chicken isn’t open late, because I would absolutely devour their chicken thighs multiple times a week at midnight if I could (that’s when I get my chicken cravings… It’s a thing).

You’ll surely be saying “Daddy, more!” once you start going.
(Again, I’m so sorry for typing that. I actually have held myself back).

almond butterfly bistro

Need a brunch with the celiac gluten free girlies? And one that involves fried chicken? Look no further!

Almond Butterfly, the entirely gluten free bistro, fortunately has Buttermilk Chicken Fingers available on their menu. It’s always nice to know there are safe breaded chicken options in the city. I personally recommend trying these with their housemate honey mustard dipping sauce!

Bonus of Almond Butterfly - there are tons of entirely gluten free sweet treats available as dessert after.

Ahhhh - the beauty of choice!

SCORE ON QUEEN/ KING

You’ll receive a perfect score from your tastebuds if you head on over to Score!

Their entire menu, save for a few items, can be made celiac-safe gluten free, including their chicken strips and accompanying dipping sauces. While there is only one chicken strip available, it’s crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and doesn’t have a weird chew. Perfect!

If you find yourself late-night, requiring wings, Score is definitely your spot. Your non gluten-free friends will also love it! There is the option to make both “normal” and “gluten free” items.

As an aside, if you know me personally, you know I consider Score’s yam fries the BEST in the city. I will make an explicit trip to Score just for these fries. They’re often open until the wee hours of the morning, which is perfect for a night owl such as myself. Those fries are a perfect addition to their chicken strips. I can’t recommend this combo enough!

Score a royal flush when you visit either the Queen or King location on your next late-night outing (that sentence was a masterpiece, and I managed to improv it while listening to a podcast at 12:51am while eating PB cookies).

Swing on by, and let me know your thoughts!
