Kat Burki Haircare Review (Biochemistry Backed Haircare)
Kat Burki has a mission. That mission is offering skincare products that stem from a biochemistry-backed approach, with clinically proven and science-driven formulas at the core of the brand. On top of this, Kat Burki ensures the integrity of their actives (i.e. stabilized Vitamin C, encapsulated Retinol, neuropeptides, ProB Vitamin complexes, etc.) without adding any extra fillers, or synthetic blocking ingredients, thus also making the products clean and natural! Talk about excelling in every field.
Armed with their proprietary KB5™ Complex, which they describe as a “deeply calming blend of botanicals”, Kat Burki focuses on their own “Nutrient Delivery System, a proprietary approach that prioritizes synergistic ingredient combining, and delivery to target healing within the skin with therapeutic vitamin therapy to support healing after driving down inflammation.”
While not all of the products are effective on my skin, the ones that I find work, I adore. From the cult-favourite Vitamin C Intensive Face Cream, to the costly-but-covetable Form Control™ Marine Collagen Gel, I break down my thoughts on some of the brands most sought-after products!
bio-ferment renewing shampoo
This is a ride-or-die product that I consider as part of my Holy Grail of skincare.
The Vitamin C Intensive Face Cream is unique, and really makes my skin feel more plump and hydrated. The results for me were instantaneous, and I find there’s something “off” with my skin when I stop using it. On top of being moisturizing, I’ve also found that my slight acne scarring has decreased somewhat with repeated usage. Wow!
I always stock up on this cream whenever I find it at my local beauty counter; it’s a cult favourite, and tends to sell out fast!
The formula’s main ingredient is called 15% STAY C (a stable form of Vitamin C), that is paired with Reishi Mushroom to help its absorption.
The only thing I will mention is that my mum, who has rosacea, feels her skin is too sensitive for this product. However, I have never had this issue. Different products are required for different skin types, and this particular cream does wonders for mine. It’s definitely worth a try.
Overall, I highly recommend this cream!
Star Ingredients: 15% Stabilized Vitamin C (brightening), Colloidal Silver (supports the skin barrier), Reishi Mushroom (rejuvenating)

Kat Burki’s Rose Hip Intense Recovery Eye Serum is what I would consider a standout product.
This is by far the best eye serum I have ever used, and it’s a product I find myself re-purchasing time and time again (I’ve already emptied 4 bottles, and am currently on my 5th).
I find this eye serum delivers noticeable results, that tend to diminish when I switch it out for another product. On top of being hydrating, it lightens and brightens my under-eye area without any hint of irritation.
It also absorbs quickly, which makes it a dream for layering eye makeup on top of it in the morning.
Packed full of Rose Hip Seed Oil and Vitamin C, the product also has DMAE and 1% Retinol.
Overall, a very effective product for me!

bio-ferment scalp & hair treatment
Kat Burki’s signature gel cleanser features their KB5™ Complex, and a mix of more than 92 Ocean Minerals.
This product lathers well, and has a pleasant scent, but I found it left my skin feeling very “tight” and red. I fear in this case it might there might be a case of “too much of a good thing”. Although there are so many fantastic ingredients listed - Red Clover extract, Calendula Flower Water, Borage Seed Extract, to name a few - it is possible that I was allergic to one of them.
My sensitive skin may have reacted to one of these ingredients, making this product unsuitable for me. I hesitate to call it a bad product as one of my other friends (who I gave it to) really enjoys it, and claims it leaves her skin feeling fresh and clean.
As with any skin product, it’s worth trying out to see if it works for you. Personally, I wouldn’t recommended it to those with sensitive skin, but if you’re of a heartier build, try it out!
Star Ingredients: MSM - methylsulfonylmethane (improves skin tone), Ocean Mineral Complex (hydrating), Borage Seed Oil (omegas 3, 6, 9)
