Best Aluminum Free Deodorants

Working out, warm weather, cooking over high heat - whether you want to admit it or not, those are sweaty activities! However, protecting yourself from those sweaty Betty days doesn’t have to be bad for your body! These deodorants are effective, natural, non-toxic, and aluminum free! Who can complain about that?

Without further ado, here’s some inspiration for when you have perspiration.

1. Dr. Mist

When it comes to a daily deodorant, the product I find myself reaching for the most often is Dr. Mist.

This deodorant spray is easy to use, has a pleasant odour. In fact, not only is it an effective antiperspirant, but it doubles as perfume - I always get asked what scent I’m wearing when I have it on!

One of the biggest advantages of this product is that it doesn’t leave any stain or residue on my clothing, and it dries quickly after application. The ease of use and the quick drying time make it perfect for use during my busy morning schedule. No wonder it’s won contests!

An all-around excellent product, I highly recommend Dr. Mist!

2. Crystal Rock DEODORANT (Lāfe’s Natural BodyCare)

Lafe’s makes a deodorant that I find incredibly cool - it’s a crystal rock! Talk about getting all that #GoodCrystalEnergiy when using it.

While effective, this product does require you to have a sink nearby in order to use it - it needs to be slightly wet before application. This can be a bit of a downside if you’re someone who often takes their deodorant with them into change rooms that aren’t necessarily attached to a bathroom (I’m looking at you, dance studio…). If you use it by your sink at home, it isn’t much of an issue at all.

Overall, this is a nice stick foundation that doesn’t leave a mark on clothing, and it works well at blocking sweat. One potential positive is that it is scentless.

If you want the coolness factor of using a crystal to apply deodorant, and have something that is unscented, this is a good choice.

3. Citrus Natural DEODORANT Spray (Green Beaver)

Another spray deodorant, Green Beaver’s Citrus Natural Deodorant Spray is a refreshing way to keep sweat far away.

This spray is easy to use, doesn’t stain clothing, works well, and doesn’t have a cloying scent.

On days when I have longer workouts, I like to put the spray bottle in my Pilates bag and use it when I need a touch-up between classes. It makes me feel refreshed and the scent doesn’t bother others around me.

All in all, a nice deodorant that is good on-the-go.

4. Sports 48h Deodorant (Lavilin)

Now, this is one deodorant that packs a punch!

Lavilin has a product designed for sports, and it definitely does keep my sweaty-bits dry when I am being active. The product has a light scent (not distracting at all), and it works very well at keeping any sweat and funky odours at bay.

My only qualm is that it can leave a slight residue on clothing, but the white film has always come off in the wash so I don’t mind it too much as it does keep me smelling fresh when I most need it.

For more intense workouts, consider adding this deodorant to your collection!

5. Bio 72h Deodorant (Lavilin)

If 48h protection doesn’t suffice, Lavilin creates a 72h product to help ya out!

This product is very effective, but I find it can be a bit drying on my skin when used too often. I usually reserve it 1-2 times a week if I’m going to be very active. It takes about 1-2 minutes to dry after application as well, so be aware of that before putting on a shirt after use.

If you need heavy-duty sweat-proofing, this is a great product. Use it accordingly!

6. Lavender Deodorant Crystal (Natural Fresh)

Here’s another crystal deodorant, but one that has a stronger, pleasant lavender scent.

Naturally Fresh makes a deodorant that works well to combat perspiration. It’s a very “clean” product that’s paragon-free and hypoallergenic.

Again, a sink is required to apply this product as it needs to be a bit wet to work effectively, but overall it is easy to use and does its job (while smelling great).

The most unique deodorant mentioned on this list, Lush Cosmetic’s T’eo, is a favourite among my brother and my best friend. I personally am not as keen on the product, but I must admit. it does work.

Marrying “odour-neutralizing essential oils” and “sweat-absorbing powders” is what helps this product target the bacteria that creates odours (not the sweat itself, which, contrary to popular belief, isn’t the stinky part).

The essential oils used are lemongrass, tea tree oil, and juniper berry, which explains its light and refreshing scent. This product is, without a doubt, an effective deodorant. One of my brothers who plays hockey regularly swears by it as his sweat-wicking product of choice.

Personally, I find my skin is too sensitive to use it. Perhaps the essential oils are what bother me, but regardless, it’s not for me. I am also not a fan of it’s “crumbliness”.

T’eo is a unique product that, depending on your needs, may or may not be the right fit for you. If you do arduous workouts, it might be worth a try! It’s t’eotally cool!
